Quality Living is dance. Through dance comes self-worth, joy of life and
thereof increased quality of life. Through increased quality of life
come healthiness, beauty and vitality.
The concept of Quality Living was an idea that started on a beach in Chile, when a friend and I were
relaxing in the sun. We were university exchange students and had
skipped classes to travel through Chile. We were now enjoying the sun
and discussing men, love and the way we looked.
I didn’t have the strongest self-worth at the time. By contrast, my
friend proclaimed: "I feel beautiful", while she through her head back
basking in the sun. Diagnosed with both envy and a
who-do-you-think-you-are attitude I thought: "She isn’t beautiful at
all!", "How can she even think that about herself?" The simple truth
that she liked herself just the way she was dawned on me and I wished it
was me. I felt enlightened, suddenly knowing that she was in the right!
That you should find yourself ok, and even say it out loud!
It is, however, only if grounded in the body that your self-worth can
blossom for real and to the point where you feel good about yourself
just the way you are.
This is where dancing comes in. Without really knowing I one day found
myself having a liberating and fulfilling sense of worth. It had come
through dance. By playing with my physical self, my femininity and
interacting with the other sex I had moved myself away from my head and
into my body. I was sound in my self-worth as well as my joy of life.
