"Our physical condition influences our psychological status, the
strength of our life force and thereby our quality of life. We must
nurture and sustain all three levels to be able to function normally.
Disease arises when we distance us from "ourselves" and thereby create
disharmony and loss of energy, which allows for infections and degrading
processes within the body.
Movement is a prerequisite of life. Life itself is pulsating energy. By
increasing "flow" in our body important functions are stimulated, which
have positive affects on our health and even activates self healing. The
energy streams of the body can be nurtured in many ways; one example is
through dance and music.
Our bodies consist of cadences: Ovulation, seasonal variation, the
rhythmic activities such as nervous impulse, brain waves, heart beat and
respiration. When our bodily rhythm is integrated we achieve a healthy
harmony, but if the rhythm is not in sync we get worse.
To move is pleasurable and natural. Moving yourself to music makes
exercise easy. If exercise feels heavy and boring you become tense and
that gives you a poor sense of flow. If you exercise regularly you feel
less tension, experience less stress and sleep better. Regular exercise
relieves depression and recent studies shows that it is just as
effective a way to better your condition as antidepressants."
